I know I am totally obsessed with my cyc wall but I had to show you the finished product (with a crappy iPhone pic!) and also my cool steel-frame window created and installed by the artisans at Studio Iron. My sister uses their work in her projects all the time and they are fabulously talented so check them out if you need any iron work done.
When you own a small business, you find out pretty quickly that you can't do everything. After trying to frame a few things myself, I had to ask the question, "Do I want to be a photographer or a picture framer?"
Great progress has been made in just a week. My brother put all the trim up today (not pictured) but I thought it might be fun to see how fab the cyc wall is coming along. I am so excited about that wall, even though everyone thinks it is just a fancy skateboard ramp (over my dead body...).
....there was a mess that got much worse before it got better. Such is the nature of all building projects and our new studio is no exception. The new Cyc Wall is being built today by my sweet little brother who put a 6" nail through his hand yesterday with a pnuematic nail gun. Way to take one for the team Lo. And, no, the walls are not staying that color...
The goal is to always get something new each time I shoot. This can be difficult when it's really hot and everyone is tired. Heavy bridal satin does not make for a cool photo session (nor does a black tux for that matter!). Not to fear though, Clint and Elizabeth rose to occasion and made this shoot work. Thanks to Elizabeth's sisters who acted as extra hands while we were dragging our junk all over the place!
OK, so the cat's out of the bag already but I just wanted to officially announce that ATJ Photography is moving this summer to our new digs at 166 W. Main Street in the Berge Building on Main and Robson. We will be taking over the space that used to be Baby Bliss/Blissful Living so we will be next door to our friends, the Albers, at Domestic Bliss and, Rob Brinton, Matage Custom Framing the best custom framer in the world will be moving into the building before I do, on June 1st. My little sister, Caroline DeCesare of DeCesare Design Group has her fab design firm upstairs so we'll all be cozy together in the same building. This is a recent pic of a gorgeous couple in front of my new digs---you'll see more of them later! We are hoping to open up in the new space no later than the first week in July (sooner, if I have anything to say about it;)! For now, we are here and making big plans!
